Burgundy and navy

Today`s mission was to create a look that is both slightly casual and decidedly polished. The first item I had in my mind were the shoes, they are one of the treasures I found during our recent trip in the Philippines. Yes, I got myself a new pair of ankleboots and these ones are real statement makers! What I like most about them is the leopard print and the burgundy colour. But also the unique model with the half transparent block heel. That really makes them stand out. These shoes (babies) have lots of possibilities to wear and to transform even the simplest of looks into remarkable ones.

For me, burgundy is the best match with navy, quickly followed by army. Today I went for navy. So I chose my suede patchwork skirt with navy and burgundy tones and added a knitted sweater and a big cape to it. The decision to pair the skirt with the sweater and the cape came from my go to rule. Whenever I wear something short, I like to pair it with something oversized or more covered up on top. A nice sweater or a big cape on a short skirt, for example, always does a great job, providing the perfect balance between slouchy cozy and feminine.

How do you feel about my new leopard statementmakers? Do you think my mission is accomplished?
