It`s a mix and match game

Yes, I`m definitely in summer mood now and I will show the world by constantly wearing colourful outfits and happy prints. With a flower party on my skirt and a happy coloured striped top, it`s a mix and match game kind of day.

On a scale of one to ten of tricky trends, I guess mixing prints are pretty high on the list. Just in between the slip dress (and not just for the night) the crop top and the socks in sandals. They all can look amazing, but can also easily go terribly wrong with these trends. For me a mixed print outfit works when the separate pieces can blend together and create at the same time an interesting contrast.

In the magical world of mixing and matching, my most important rule is about the colour scheme. I always let the same colour tones return in both prints. The print that goes with almost everything is stripes. They are pretty much the neutrals of prints. So if you have some striped items in your closet, they are a good item to start with.

With that in my mind I found this new combination. Since the look is already pretty striking on its’ own I kept the accessories very simple, wearing it with my black sandals and a leather jacket.

What do you think of the combination? Are you into mixing prints?
